| Abstract Background: The use of commercial mix and tank mix with two or more herbicides is a widespread practice. However, despite its several possible benefits, little is known about its effect on the behavior of the molecules in the soil, which can increase or reduce the leaching potential of these molecules. | White mold caused by Sclerotinia sclerotiorum (Lib.) de Bary is a devastating disease that affects the common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris. L) crop worldwide. In Argentina, white mold has been detected in all bean production areas, reaching seed yield and quality losses up to 100% on susceptible common bean cultivars under favorable weather conditions. | The estuarine turbidity maximum (ETM) zone occurs in river estuaries due to the effects of tidal dynamics, density-driven residual circulation and deposition/erosion of fine sediments. Even though tropical river estuaries contribute proportionally more to the sediment supply of coastal areas, the ETM in them has been hardly studied. | ABSTRACT: The present study was to assess the additive effects of cuscuta (akasbel) aqueous extract alone and in combination with full and reduced doses of commercially available weedicides against weeds in wheat crop during the year 2016-2017. The study was conducted in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with 3 replications. | The effect of biofilm formation on passive stainless steel in seawater environments is of primary importance since it leads to potential ennoblement of surfaces and subsequently to localized corrosion such as pitting and crevice corrosion. This study aims at developing an ecofriendly alginate biopolymer containing both non-toxic calcium and a limited amount of biocidal zinc ions which inhibits this effect. | ABSTRACT One of the new crop varieties that have been adopted for high yield is the Egyptian faba bean. However, poor-quality faba bean has reduced economic value. Quality evaluation is thus important and can be performed using computational intelligence. We developed a robust method based on morphological features and artificial neural network for quality grading and classification of Egyptian faba-bean seeds, covering five varieties: Giza3, Giza461, Misr1, Nobarya1, and Sakha1. | Os frutos de tucumã-do-pará vêm se destacando quantitativamente como uma importante fonte de carotenoides, contudo, a variabilidade entre indivíduos conservados em banco de germoplasma indicam também, em razão das tonalidades de cores observadas, uma diferença qualitativa desses compostos. | ABSTRACT Using multivariate analyses, this study attempted to identify important traits explaining the relationship between milk production and quality produced by Holstein cows. Monthly milk records from three commercial dairy farms located in the Agreste region of Pernambuco, Brazil, collected in the period from 2007 to 2017, were used. A total of 5,872 observations regarding milk production, milk components and somatic cell score (SCS) were analyzed using principal component analysis (PCA) and cluster analysis. | ABSTRACT Campomanesia rufa (O. Berg) Nied. is a native Cerrado species that presents great edible potential. However, it is a species “in danger of extinction” as recommended by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN). No technical and scientific information about the species exists, thus demonstrating the importance of its research.
